okay I have sent ludicrous and inflammatory, and occasionally informative, posts over the last 2-3 years and the result is that this line runs on and on...maybe Jarte is set wrong. the result is I've been invited to join a blog because of my antipodean image of the world. Imagine looking at the world from the point of view of looking up a guy's shorts, or the back end of a cow.

I'll try to write in plane English, since I just looked at a GRE website and saw words I've never imagined. or never imagnined I'd use. Plane English is limited to the number of words that can be written on a 747 in 248point font. Words on flaps are not permitted

Silly me! And to think that I was foolish enough to think that "civil defence" was that abomination our own U.S. Geheime Staats Politzi is trying to build along the U.S. Mexican border.

OK, I'll guess. The "remain" means some one or few left over from before. That would be...."the kiln(s) still found at this ancient site were the first to produce Chinaware".

Civil Defence in an NZ context is the org that deals with natural disasters. It is basically planning and liaison between police, fir brigade, Search&Rescue and the armed forces. Uncivil defence is dealt with by the Navy, and Air Force. Our Navy has a 4inch gun and two skyrockets, the Air Force has a Hercules and a sack of spuds to throw at boatloads of refugees.
